Pastoral Care Ministry

The pastoral care ministries at Christ Church Anglican assist the priests in ministering to the congregation with prayer, healing, visitation, meals and other practical support. See the sections below for more information.  If you are part of the fellowship of Christ Church and are either needing care or wanting to participate in offering care to others in need, please contact Mtr. Bree Snow at bsnow@christchurchphoenix.org.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is central to our life at Christ Church Anglican. Our general prayer team consists of around 75 faithful members who pray daily for those on the prayer list. If you or a loved one have a prayer need, please contact Dcn. Matt Allen at dcnmvallen@gmail.com. CCA’s prayer list includes both short and long term requests. The altar-side prayer team prays with people just after communion. These prayers are very meaningful, as they are confidential and follow the sacrament.

Additionally, CCA offers a ministry of healing prayer. The healing team ministers to anyone, church member or not, who is in need of physical, spiritual, or emotional healing. Prayer is offered on the following days: Tuesdays at 5:30pm and Fridays at 12:00 pm. Appointments may be scheduled outside of those times if necessary. For questions about the healing ministry or to schedule an appointment, contact Laura Mitchell at lpmitch05@gmail.com.

Meals that Heal

An active group of members provide meals to those who need them due to a significant life event such as hospitilization or delivery of a baby. Generally, meals are provided for a two-week period, every other day, but longer if needed. We can always use more help so if you would like to join this tasteful group who provide meals to others or if you are in need of culinary support due to a stressful life event, please contact the office or email the pastoral care address above.

Eucharistic Visitors

A committed group of parishioners take communion to those who are unable to come to church due to illness or injury. This ministry is a tremendous blessing to our shut-ins. We visit those who are at home or in a nursing facility or hospital. If you are unable to leave your home for an extended period of time and would like to participate in communion or if you are interested in serving fellow parishioners in this way, contact the office or email the pastoral care address above.
