A Farewell Thank You Note to CCA

Dear friends,

Ellen joins me in relaying our thanks for your support on our last Sunday at CCA. The reception was beautiful and your response was really overwhelming. We are full and overflowing with gratitude for the five-and-a-half years we have been among you in ministry. It feels selfish (it has for 40 years of ordained ministry!) to actually be paid to be a beggar telling other beggars where to find food. God’s promise is sure: there is “rest” for the weary and heavy-laden!

I feel extremely confident handing on the leadership to Bishop Mark and Father Matt, and the rest of our church staff are as steady and grounded in Christ as any group I have ever served with. How well God has provided for this congregation over the years!

Thank you again for your thoughtfulness, generosity, and friendships. You can know that Ellen and I will have you in our prayers, and we are excited to see Christ Church grow and reach many others with the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the years to come.
