Children’s Ministry

Nursery

Christ Church offers a nursery facility for infants to age three during our Sunday worship services and Adult Education. Our staff is CPR and first-aid certified, as well as background checked and screened by our church leadership. A typical Sunday morning in the nursery includes playtime, stories in the reading corner, snack, and time to do crafts.

Children’s Church – Godly Play

cca41While we at Christ Church desire the whole family to be together in regular Sunday worship, we realize that having small children in the morning service can be a challenge. As such, Godly Play class is an interactive telling of biblical stories that engage children in the word of God through all five senses. Children are to be checked in before the service and will return to their families at the passing of the peace in time to share communion with the congregation.

Godly Play guides us through the liturgical year and introduces kids to the major Old and New Testament stories. After the morning’s story, the children are invited to work with the story sets themselves or create reflective artwork as they continue engaging with God.

Sunday School

Few things are worse for a child than a boring Sunday school class. That’s why we do our best to make Sunday school fun, engaging, and formational.

Beginning at age 3 through 6th grade, children are invited to attend class time with their peers.  Each week includes Bible time, prayer, crafts, games, and snacks. This year, we are journeying through the life of Jesus. We will look at Jesus’ interaction with people as He began His public ministry, His displays of power, and His preaching of parables. The class will culminate with Jesus’ final path to Jerusalem, where He died to save sinners and gave us the hope of the resurrection.

Wednesday Night Kids Club

Kids Club is a time when spiritual formation is a blend of fun, challenges, and learning as children are equipped with life skills through age-appropriate games, Bible memorization, and Bible lessons. We desire to cultivate a fun, safe, and Christ-centered atmosphere where children can grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord.  This is a time for children aged 4 to 5th grade.

(There will be other options for youth and adults while the kids are enjoying Kids Club.)

Dinner – 5:15-6:15

Club time – 6:15-7:30

Toddler Story Time

On Fridays from 10:00-10:30, we meet in the Children’s suite to hear stories, sing songs, play games and have a snack. There will also be snacks for parents! This is a perfect activity for kids four and under.

Vacation Bible School

At Hometown Nazarth, kids and adults get to meet Mary and hear about Jesus’ boyhood from her perspective. Mary must have lived side by side with many people who didn’t believe or know that Jesus was the Son of God. As the campers hear Mary tell about how she knew that Jesus was God’s Son, they’ll explore how they can stand up for their faith in everyday life.

Volunteers are the heart of VBS. Please consider helping us out for the week. Youth entering 6th grade and up are welcome to volunteer.

Student Registration is open to rising Pre-K (age 4) – 5th graders.

Nursery is open for children of volunteers.
