Sing to the Lord a New Song

Dear Parishioners of Christ Church,

Do you love being part of something greater than yourself? Do you like positive collaborations all while having fun and learning at the same time? Do you love to pray with depth in different ways each week while also giving back to the church at large?

If any of these questions resonate with you, Christ Church Anglican warmly welcomes you to consider joining our Adult Choir. Under the esteemed direction of Herbert Washington, the Adult Choir focuses on building a deeper relationship with Christ through team building and song. The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm in the Sanctuary from Labor Day through Memorial Day. They also meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am to prepare for the 10:30 am worship service every week. Seasonally, the choir’s time-honored traditions of Evensong, Lessons and Carols, and the services of Holy Week allow for added participation in worship by focusing on song as a vehicle for prayer.

As Psalm 98 indicates:

“Sing to the Lord a new song for he has done marvelous things.
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous
song and sing praises.”

Our scripture invites us all to make joyful noises to proclaim the good work our Lord continues to fulfill in our lives. God calls each and every one of us to share this beautiful gift. How lucky are we to heed the call! How blessed are we to share in the liturgy with our fellow parishioners.
