Stories of God’s Faithfulness

On Sunday, October 29, we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of Christ Church. As this important landmark approaches, we asked some of those who were involved in the formation of our church to share stories of God’s guidance and love for us in those early days. Here is a small sampling of those memories.

“Prayer has been the heart and soul of Christ Church Anglican from the very first organizational meetings held in our old church until today. As we began to meet and plan our departure, we realized that we needed to be in communication with God so that His desires would become our desires. We started holding prayer concerts so that everyone would lift up their hearts together for guidance from the Lord. We must have been in His will because we found that prayer request after prayer request was swiftly and miraculously answered by the Almighty – so fast that we did not have time to reflect on the miracles nor keep track of them.” – Don and Genie Street

“The months leading up to our first service in October 2007 and the months that followed were a time in which we experienced the companionship of the Lord in an unforgettably profound way as we waited on Him in prayer and awoke each day to miracles fresh from His hand. As we worked together closely on gathering everything for worship Wendy often said, ‘Would you like to hear today’s miracle?'” – Joan Astuno

“I was in my hotel room in France, one evening thinking about the church, and what we should do about trying to hold onto the property of our former church. Outside it was dark and raining. I don’t claim to be much of a communicator with God. Staring out the window at the dark and rain, God’s voice clearly said, ‘Why don’t you just go? Walk away, never mind the property.’ That was a most critical moment in our whole journey.” – Roger Pelham
