Theology on Tap

Since its advent at Pentecost, the Church has been at work faithfully fulfilling Christ’s Commission to preach the gospel to the nations. Also since its earliest days, the Church has been at work faithfully defending that Gospel from false versions of the one true Gospel, also known as “heresy.” This semester’s Theology on Tap series will focus on three heresies that emerged early in the Church’s history: Gnosticism, Marcionism, and Arianism. Each of these heresies played a role in the formation of Christian doctrine in the early Church, but they also continue to manifest as modern deception today. Join us this Spring for Theology on Tap: Ancient Heresies, Modern Deceptions.

  • January 11—Rev. Dr. Carl Smith (Gnosticism)
  • February 8—Dr. Owen Anderson (Marcionism)
  • March 14—Dr. David Hogg (Arianism)

We will meet at The Newton Meeting Room at 300 W Camelback Rd.
